If you haven't heard by now, Tony Cologouri W2GUM again has graciously offerred to host the NJ-QRP picnic at his home down in Long Branch, NJ next Saturday August 29th!
In preparation for the event, Tony has been very busy stringing all sorts of antennas for the gang so we can munch on some burgers and operate at the same time. (Recall that we made an interesting Lithuanian contact at last year's picnic on a special delta loop Tony and Bill W2DP had strung in the backyard.)
This year, Tony has spared no efforts in getting a Sturba curtain antenna hanging from his trees ... can't wait to give this one a shot!
Tony also has a new Ten Tec 50 MHz transverter that he's aching to show us.
George will have working prototypes of the club projects (MicroBeacon and Antenna Analyzer), as well as some interesting plans underway for the next club project. (Shhhhh, it's a secret until then! :-)
Joe, Clark, Dave, and about 20 others are also slated to be at the picnic this year ... should be a great one! let us know if you too can make it. Bring the family and make it a wonderful day, starting somewhere around 10am and lasting until the Sturba curtain falls.
